Doors open at 7Pm for food and natural drinks. Political headliners start to speak at 7:30pm. The stand-up (Adult) comedy show starts punctually at 8pm.

Why give? In my third session as your State Delegate, we 

• Passed/Implemented 80% of our bills proposed and co-sponsored

• Invested $10 million to get our addicted juveniles off drugs

• Kept a campaign promise to finish the Purple Line in my first term in Annapolis - the Purple Line is now 80% complete.

• Founded the Dream Big College Prep workshop

• Opened 3 new schools out of the promised 9 - so that we now have 3 new open schools, 3 schools in the design phase, 1 new school for groundbreaking and 2 schools that are to be combined in the permit phase

• Hyattsville ES has had its groundbreaking. Cool Spring-Adelphi ES is estimated to be completed in 2029. High Point HS and the New Northern Area HS are to be completed by 2031 and 2034, respectively.

• I was among the organizers to plan the passage and implement the current laws and funding that are protecting our immigrant community, which is under attack by the Trump Administration. I was also named in a Press Release by the Trump Administration for my role as proposer to the passage of the first Sanctuary County policy in the state.

• Hosted the first by-standard training in the region and assisted with other jurisdictions doing the same.

• Joined forces with local business owners to give away 1,000 chickens during the Thanksgiving holidays. Every school, municipality, senior home, civic association, and community center in District 47B/District 2 received its share.

• I helped organize the passage of significant legislation on Baby Food Poisoning - Rudy’s Law and assisted several other states in doing the same. This made national news.

I am also proud and humbled to announce that the Maryland Retailers Alliance has recognized me as a Rising Star Legislator for the last two years. I received a Lifetime Achievement Award from CAIR for my work advocating for immigrants (September 2023) and was the second proposer for Access to Care, which successfully passed in the 2024 legislative session!

But there's still more work to do. Now more than ever.

Individuals, associations, corporations and partnerships may contribute tup to $6,000 to Friends of Deni Taveras during the four-year election cycle and may contribute up to $24,000 in the aggregate to all candidates for Maryland State and local office during this four-year election cycle.  Contributions to political campaigns are not tax deductible. Contributions must be from the donor’s own funds and may not be reimbursed by any other person.
